Arrive in Prince Rupert
Your adventure begins as guests arrive in Prince Rupert, where you'll be picked up at the airport and transferred to the elegant Crest Hotel perched above the harbour. After check-in at the beautiful Crest Hotel overlooking the harbour. After settling in, we'll gather for a welcome dinner and trip briefing. You’ll meet your guide and fellow adventurers, ask questions and get excited about the incredible days ahead.

Whale Watching & Scenic Drive to Terrace
Enjoy a relaxed morning before we head out on a 1 PM whale watching tour along the rugged northern coast. With luck, we’ll spot Humpbacks, Orcas, porpoises, and seabirds in one of the richest marine ecosystems on the planet. After the tour, we’ll journey east through the Skeena River Valley, one of the most scenic drives in Canada, arriving in Terrace by early evening.

Day 3 – Thursday, August 7, 2025
Lava Highway, Nisga’a Territory & Arrival in Bear Country
We journey today along the legendary Lava Highway, winding through the heart of Nisga’a Nation. This surreal landscape of ancient lava flows is one of Canada’s most geologically unique regions. We'll explore the rich cultural history at Nisga’a Memorial Lava Bed Park, then enjoy a local lunch at Medizan Junction — a quirky and unforgettable roadside stop.
By late afternoon, we descend into Stewart, BC, a remote frontier town surrounded by towering peaks and glacier-fed rivers. After checking into our accommodations, we cross the border into Hyder, Alaska for our first Grizzly Bear viewing session — a thrilling introduction to these awe-inspiring animals.

Day 4 – Friday, August 8, 2025
Full Day of Grizzly Bear Viewing
Today is devoted entirely to Grizzly Bear watching. From first light to sunset, we’ll track activity at key salmon streams where bears gather to feed. With patience and guidance, you’ll have opportunities to observe and photograph wild Grizzlies in their natural habitat.
In the afternoon, we’ll make the scenic ascent up Salmon Glacier Road, one of BC’s most breathtaking routes. From high above, you'll take in panoramic views of the glacier, valleys, and likely spot more wildlife along the way. It’s a day of unforgettable moments and one-of-a-kind photo opportunities.

Day 5 – Saturday, August 9, 2025
Another Day with the Grizzlies
We return to Hyder’s bear country for another immersive day of photographing Grizzlies in action. With flexible timing, we’ll follow the best opportunities, from rivers to estuaries and leave room for spontaneous stops when wildlife presents itself. Expect more magic as we deepen our connection with this rugged wilderness.

Day 6 – Sunday, August 10, 2025
Final Bear Viewing & Return to Prince Rupert
We’ll rise early for one last Grizzly encounter, soaking up every final moment in bear country. Then, we begin the scenic return drive westward to Prince Rupert, taking in new landscapes along the way. With a bit of luck, there may be a few parting wildlife surprises en route.

We gather for a farewell breakfast with a view, sharing photos, stories, and our favourite memories from the trip. After breakfast, airport transfers begin mid-morning, with the last drop-off by noon.
